I really enjoyed this spin on the young love story, where a group of people are thrown together, each holding a special skill needed to save the world from the evil that walks among us and beneath the very ground we live on.
This is the first book in a continuous story line series. You're introduced to the characters and ride along as their gifts are awakened. They must unite for a journey vital to saving the earth even though at times they don't even like each other.
I found the Angel history really interesting and added a unique spin to this genre. I thought all the characters were well written and each given their own personalities and voices. Trent was one that stood out as he seemed to be the mechanism for comedy relief.
Fans of the genre will probably love this book and look forward to the series, one look on Amazon it's easy to see that readers are loving it and thirsting for more.

This book was amazing! I've never been one for religious based/sugar coated stories, but this one... it's different. This is a book about regular teenaged kids who are thrust into a world of angels, demons, prophets, miracles, and apocalyptic destruction. It's exciting, it's terrifying, it's enlightening, and it's enthralling. I love how Amanda Strong weaves a powerful story that brings to light the mysteries of Bible and stories about the end of the world. I can't wait to read the next book! This is definitely a series I will follow through to the end.
I LOVED this book! It's so similar to my Immortal Memory trilogy with the angels fighting the evil in a mortal world in the midst of romance! The book is clean with an amazing Christian theme, paranormal elements, well-developed characters, beautiful settings, and excellent grammar. There is constant tension throughout the book, which left me on edge. Most of all, I enjoyed reading about the biblical knowledge of the angels. Amanda, please continue writing books in this genre. These are my favorite!
I really did like the book, it was very good...accept for the few typos. The writing style is definitely geared more towards teenagers than adults. It's the wiring style, good but in a very "childish" teenage mindset. I've read a lot of YA fantasy books by some great authors. Mortal Instruments by Cassandra Clare (I also jst finished Lady Midnight her newest in her Shadowhunters chronicles), of course Twilight...there's many more I'm sure I can make my 34 y/o mind dredge up but; as they; I ain't got time fa dat...lol. ANYWAYS; what sets these titles I've mentioned from this book is writing & character development. Scene development as well, but that was pretty good actually. The author did good; well, great really; incorporating atmosphere & scene description in the book. The characters in this book though; hmmm...what can I say but that there were really a bunch of eye-roll scenes. What sets Clary Fray & Jace Wayland apart from Eden & Micah? Their maturity; that's all that's it. How the author was able to make the teens rise up & do what is needed to overcome their obstacles. How they're able to handle difficult situations that fate has forced them into & how they're able to make mature decisions & sacrifice their happiness for the greater good...in a MATURE way...lol. These characters not so much; not even their angel guardians; which is the biggest eye-roll & main dislike of this book. But anyways....it was still an enjoyable read. I'm not a writer so what real right do I have to judge someone's stab at literary greatness???? Just keep at it & you'll get btr...I'M SURE OF IT!!! Just make sure you get thorough editing done for your nxt literary works!!!
Whether you enjoy paranormal, young adult or Christian-based books, you will enjoy this book. It reminds you of something important that we often forget the awesome power of God. No. This is not a preachy book. It is a story about angels and demons, a group of teens and POWER. Read it. You will be glad you did. Can't wait to read the next in the series.
Eden is a teenager girl, awkward, self-conscious, and feeling every moment of that when she sees her long lost best friend Micah. Without even knowing why, she hugs him. Little does she know that such a simple gesture will set them and their friends off on an adventure for the ages. They will have great struggles but their achievements will far exceed even their own expectations. This is brilliantly written! The character growth is perfect in that not only do the readers gain insight about the characters but it's as if the characters themselves are learning right along with the reader. The emotional development is truly key to this story as it aids in the growth of the characters and the progression of the story. I couldn't put this book down and was diving head first into the sequel the moment I finished this one. Love it!
The action was great, the imagery was vivid and the plot flowed smoothly and quickly, but it was the characters that really captured my heart. I wish we could have gotten to know Damon better. The others were "loud" enough characters, but Damon stayed in the background so much that we didn't really get to know him. I hope in the future books, we will get to know him and the others better. I also hope that the "need-to-know" information will include Eden. I also want to see why Eden is so important. Her gift is subtle, and yet the most important-how so? I have an idea or two but I'd love to see it more actively manifested and consciously used to support her friends. Despite all of the unanswered questions the book is excellent and I look forward to continuing the story.
